I  have been traveling since 2008 visiting children in schools orphanages and hospitals, in many countries around the world. I have witnessed the plight of child soldiers, child prostitutes, child victims of landmines, children living off the street and children floating down sewage infested rivers in washing up bowls selling snakes and reptiles to make survival a viable prospect. Approx 20% of the children I have filmed have now died through malnutrition, disease or abuse.

It has been a sharp reminder to me that we in the first world cannot turn our backs on people in the third world – for our complacency costs lives, our hesitancy breeds disease and time is running out for these young children . We can make a difference if we use our enthusiasm to fuel awareness and our dedication to invoke change.

      So 2011 will see me launch new projects under the title:

"Charline's Child Survival Projects "

Well despite my injuries and unable to get my walking boots on I decided to go ahead on my solo journey 25,000 miles around the world on my project

November 2010 Update

 October sees my falling on ice and breaking both my tibula and fibula in 3 places. I have just had an operation to insert a pin and to screw the broken bones into my new metal rod. Just call me Ms Titanium ;0)
So at the moment I am wheelchair bound and in recovery, but rest assured I have December in my mind and will aim for a quick recovery and my walking boots back on by the 12th month - wish me luck !!!!!!!

August 2010 Update

2010 has been an unsual year to say the least and I apologise for the lack of updates to the site, but so far 2010 has seen me celebrating a 21st, 25th and 100th birthday, mourn the death of my father and recuperate from a major car crash but now I have put mind and body back in order and will be back out on the road soon !
